The Council is made up of 21 elected representatives who are democratically elected every four years. For Town Council purposes, Leighton-Linslade is divided into eight political wards with elected representatives who serve on the Council.

Since its creation in 1974 Leighton-Linslade Town Council has developed into one of the largest Councils in Central Bedfordshire. It is recognised as a ‘Quality Council’ under a nationally recognised scheme that demonstrates that the organisation is managed effectively and that the Council has an elected mandate.
