Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021
Music in the Park
Music in the Park takes place from June to September on Sunday afternoons beginning at 3pm. For many years now the Town Council has organised concerts to showcase brass and silver bands from around the region with Jazz and popular bands also represented throughout the years.
A diverse music offering ensures an entertaining programme to suit all tastes on the historic bandstand which Parson’s Close Recreation Ground offers.
Refreshments are available to purchase from the Café in the Park located next to the Splash ‘N’ Play park, along with accessible toilets facilities.
Music in the Park 2021
After a year of virtual performances in 2020, Music in the Park is able to return in 2021, providing an opportunity for guests to enjoy live music from the bandstand once more. To ensure the safety of performers and audience members, a reservation is required to attend the Music in the Park concerts this year.
Reservations are able to be made in groups of up to 6 who will be provided with an area in which to watch the concert from which is socially distanced from other family and friendship groups attending. Audience members should bring their own chairs for the concerts as benches within the park and seating from the Town Council will be unavailable.
Reservations can be made from Monday 24th May no more than two weeks in advance of a concert taking place. A dedicated reservation webpage along with a reservation phone number will be made available prior to the reservation period opening.
