Annual Business Networking Event
The Annual Business Networking Event takes place in Spring, usually during the month of April. It is a great way to introduce your business into the vast local business network, share business knowledge or seek out advice. Many local businesses find likeminded entrepreneurs and end up working collaboratively with them. Some find the service providers they need to support their own business,e.g. accountants or technical services that help boost business infrastructure. We host business support agencies and invite other local business networks to attend so that you can chose to join a more regular support group if you wish to. Everyone is welcome, it’s free to attend, and the event space is usually alive with the buzz of conversations.
We are so very pleased to work in partnership with local business sponsors and business support agencies for the event. Why not build your own networking influence and join our group of sponsors?

Working for yourself could be a lonely thing so tapping into the network of businesses can be a life saver on all levels. We love to welcome new or existing business and we always like to see our frequent attendees as they obviously know that networking is essential for doing business!
Our event was a finalist in the Luton and Bedfordshire SME Business Awards 2019 in the category of Networking Group of the Year. Now that’s a good reputation to have.
Annual Business Networking Event 2019
“Best one yet,” was a comment heard as people left the 7th annual Business Networking Event on Wednesday 24 April. It truly had a great ‘buzz’ about the evening and the noise of talking just kept going on throughout the evening.
A total of 117 local business people chatted and made connections during the evening. 1,900 recorded connections were created using our technology partner for the event, Blendology, who provided electronic business cards that attendees tapped to record who they had met.
Sarah K, an Award-Winning Social Media expert at Etica, joined the evening for a short presentation on how to build a Powerful Community and Personal Social Media Brand, providing hints and tips for smaller businesses engaging with their customer base through social media platforms.
Attendee feedback has been very positive with comments ranging from “very useful for start-ups’ to ‘the best Networking Group I’ve been too”.
Organisers of the event, Leighton-Linslade Town Council would like to thank key partners and sponsors Hascat Safety, LB Connect, Bee Local, The Federation of Small Businesses and Central Bedfordshire Council for their support.
Through this partnership approach with the business community, the Business Networking Event was 1 of 3 finalists for Business Networking Group of the year at the Luton & Beds SME Business Awards (Small, Medium Enterprises). Whilst the Council did not receive a prize, the Council is proud to have made it to the finals and raising our profile for how we support our local businesses.
