Leighton-Linslade Town Council

Summary: 

The Council comprises 21 elected volunteer Members, who each serve a four-year term of office. Council ordinarily meets five to six times per year but additional extraordinary meetings may be called from time to time.

Council will receive and consider recommendations from the standing committees, will set the budget and precept, approve the year end accounts, consider any sale or purchase of land and approve all policies.

The Chair and Vice Chair of the Council are titled the Town Mayor and Deputy Mayor. In their civic role, the Town Mayor will lead several local events each year including the Remembrance Service and Civic Service and will also undertake various fundraising activities for their chosen local charities.
