Shopping in Leighton-Linslade

Leighton-Linslade town centre contains many specialist local shops, whose owners are happy to give advice and help. It is well worth exploring the various Mews, as within them, and hidden away from the main High Street are many brilliant independent specialist shops such as knitting, crafts, fancy dress, model railway, vintage clothing, bridal, crystals, health food, plumbing, pets, gardens, cycling, gifts, books and many others.

Leighton Buzzard has a lovely historic Town Centre with a lively and friendly market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This market sells fruit and vegetables, including local Bedfordshire produce and features a wide range of stalls. To see the markets page, click here.

Leighton Linslade Town Council works very closely with voluntary and community groups to support the town including LB First (a group of local businesses and residents who really care about the town and enhance the town centre).

Leighton Buzzard is a Fairtrade town, a successful competitor in Anglia in Bloom and was one of the 11 national cycle towns: www.lbcycleclub.org.uk

The mainline railway station is an award-winning community rail partnership: www.offtherailslb.co.uk

The Town Council works in partnership with both LB First and South Bedfordshire Friends of the Earth to publish an annual shopping guide which includes a map and directory of the shops and services available in the town centre and places to eat and drink. These guides are available to pick up through various retailers and from the Library and Town Council offices. They are also displayed on the town centre bus shelters.
