Christmas Weekend Event Programme

This year’s Christmas Weekend is organised by I ♥ LB in partnership with Leighton-Linslade Town Council and takes place on Friday 25 November and Saturday 26 November 2011.

The weekend starts on the Friday with a Christmas Craft market and the official switch on of the Christmas lights at 7.00pm by England Cricketer, Alistair Cook.  This will immediately be followed by a spectacular Fireworks Display.  A photo opportunity with a family of Reindeer will add to the christmas spirit and other attractions will inlcude Santa’s Grotto located at Barrington's Cafe, BBQ at Strattons Butchers, live entertainment on stage and mince pies and mulled wine at Barrington's.

A programme of live music and street entertainment continues on Saturday as well as Santa’s Grotto and the usual market operating in the High Street.  A Fun Fair with traditional Carousel will operate throughout the weekend including Sunday.

The Christmas Weekend event has grown in popularity and it is expected to attract a lot of residents and visitors to the town. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the High Street and hope everyone enjoys this special weekend.
