Music in the Park The summer season of Band Concerts starts on Sunday 3 June in Parson’s Close Recreation Ground and continues throughout the summer until Sunday 2 September. Bands from around the Three Counties region will join local groups in performing as part of the Sunday afternoon programme of Music in the Park. Concerts will start at 1500hrs and finish at 1700hrs with a short interval for refreshments. The evening concert, now a regular feature in the music programme, will be held on Sunday 12 August from 1830hrs until 2100hrs. 2012 Programme of Music in the Park

Movies for the More Mature The Town Council continues to work with Leighton Buzzard Theatre in supporting a programme of film shows on a Wednesday afternoon. Residents of Leighton-Linslade aged 55 and over are eligible for free membership entitling them to a discounted ticket price of £2.60; this also includes light refreshments before the film show. Senior Citizens Monthly Tea Dances The ever popular tea dances continue in 2012 with the regular Thursday afternoon social dances taking place at Bell Close Sports Association Clubroom (Leighton Buzzard Tennis and Cricket Club) off Lake Street. Diamond Jubilee The Town Council will be joining the nation in celebrating the Diamond Jubilee with a one day event in Pages Park on Monday 4 June. As well as a programme of live music and entertainment, activities and attractions to suit all ages will take place throughout the day. Everyone is welcome to come along and celebrate this wonderful occasion. You may make some new friends or meet up with old friends but we hope you all enjoy this day of celebration. | Canal Festival 2012 The canal festival will take place on Saturday 28 July with a full day of traditional arts & crafts, rural craft demonstrators, live entertainment, a large selection of handcrafted products for sale and a colourful collection of historic and working narrow boats. This year the Town Council is celebrating the 10th year of this very popular and successful event and hopes that residents of Leighton-Linslade will again support this free community event as they have done over the past years. |
