Raising awareness will help residents to combat crime and improve home security.
Dealing with local problems
Home Watch can help residents understand how they can work with the Police and the local Council to deal effectively with problems caused by anti social behaviour, nuisance and environmental crime covered under the latest Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act.
How to set up a street Home Watch Scheme
Setting up a Home Watch scheme involves 3-4 neighbours getting together to form a new group. A one off meeting will be arranged either locally or at the White House to pass on information packs and explain how Home Watch operates. A local Police Beat Manager will also be available to advise on crime prevention and discuss any local issues that may be causing concern.
