Allotments

We provide allotments at two locations, Alwins Field (off Knaves Hill, Linslade) and Weston Avenue (off Stanbridge Road, Leighton Buzzard). There is a waiting list for allotments at both of these locations.

Cemeteries

We own and operate two cemeteries, Vandyke Road Cemetery and Old Linslade Cemetery. These cemeteries are maintained by our dedicated park staff.

Parks and Open Spaces

We own and tend to most of the playgrounds, parks and open spaces in the town. We offer our parks to sports teams who may wish to book our pitches, and our pavilions to community groups.

Community Grants

Three types of grants are available from the Town Council. General and Start-up grants are available, along with Guaranteed grants that provide funding for a four-year period.

Markets

Leighton Buzzard market is held in the High Street every Tuesday and Saturday.   It provides an excellent range of first class products and continues to be a focal point for residents of the town and the surrounding area.

Older People

The Town Council arranges a programme of activites for older residents which includes regular tea dances and the Over 55's Film Club "Movies for the More Mature". These are monthly activities.

 Our 'Teenage Advice Centre, Teenage Information Centre' - If you want or need support around any issues you have in your life or want to ask questions but don't know who to ask then TACTIC is the place to go. Our team can help you with a range of issues, including sexual health, school, college and University, employment, drug abuse, housing, finance, identity, relationships and much more.

Town Mayor

The Town Mayor, Gordon Perham, is a Councillor and Chair of the Town Council and is elected to the post each May at the Annual Council Meeting. The Town Mayor supports various local charities and organises several charity events throughout the year. The Mayor welcomes invitations from local organisations to attend functions and fund raising events.

Town Crier

The Town Crier, Peter Hailes, is happy to assist local charities, organisations and community festivals in bringing their events to the notice of residents. The services of the Crier at local functions is non-chargeable unless the event is commercial. There may be a small charge if an event is held outside the town of Leighton-Linslade.
