The 'Big Plan'

2006 consultationThe Big Plan was published in 2007 and set out the improvements the community of Leighton Buzzard and Linslade wanted to see over the next 20 years. The Town Council now wants to revisit the Big Plan and bring it up-to-date.

During the next 9-12 months, a series of public engagement events are planned where we will look at what has been achieved, what has changed, whether the projects are still relevant and, lastly, whether there is anything that is not in the Plan that should be!

Some of these public engagement events will focus on specific sections of the Big Plan e.g.

  • Children & Young People / Sports & Leisure
  • Social Infrastructure
  • Jobs & Employment / Education & Lifelong Learning
  • Green Infrastructure / Greening Leighton - Linslade
  • Town Centre & Retail / Culture, Heritage and Tourism
  • Sustainable Transport
  • Health & Social Care
  • Planning & Growth / Local Services

During this period of community engagement, we also hope to hold one or two exhibitions to give people an opportunity to comment.

The first event will take place on Tuesday 8 December 2009 at the White House, Hockliffe Street, Leighton Buzzard. Sessions will be held in the afternoon and evening.  Put the date in your diary as it is your opportunity to have your say on what you think about Children & Young People / Sports & Leisure.
