Christmas Festival Weekend (Friday 28 November until Sunday 30 November)

Friday 28 November marks the start of the Christmas Weekend with the switch-on of the Christmas Lights at 7.00pm followed by a firework display.   Activities for Saturday and Sunday include Santa's Grotto, donkey rides, food court, live entertainment and a Fun Fair.  Pet owners please be advised to keep pets safe and inside during the firework display.  For more information about the weekend click on the link above.


The Wombles are coming to town!

Tuesday 25th November 2014 join Orinoco and Wellington helping to clear rubbish left behind by the humans! Starting in Parsons Close Recreation Ground at 10am the litter pick will lead from Parsons Close to Grovebury Road and then follow the route of the old railway track ending at Mentmore Gardens. Joining the Wombles, Leighton-Linslade Town Council and Waitrose along the way are volunteer groups Leighton-Linslade In-Bloomers, Woodcraft Group and Friends of Tiddenfoot. Come and join in or just see the Wombles!


 

Town Mayor's Chrismas Carol Concert

Saturday 13th December 2014, 7.30pm at All Saints Parish Church. Tickets available from Leighton-Linslade Town Council, Selections Hardware Store and All Saints Parish Church.


 

Pollinator Strategy

Leighton Linslade has become a case study for a new Pollinator Strategy scheme launched by the government, please visit  www.beesneeds.org.uk for more information.

Friends of The Earth are looking for volunteers to help with planting dates across the town.


 

Mentmore Road Pavilion

The refurbishment of Mentmore Road Pavilion is now complete and open for business as normal. In addition the Council will now also be offering the pavilion for hire for private parties and functions. The hiring conditions are yet to be agreed but details will be published once confirmed. If you would like to make an enquiry please do so by emailing info@leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk


 

Public Consultation on play equipment for Vandyke Road

Thank you to everyone who attended the public consultation held at the The White House on 16 October 2014. The result of the consultation for proposed play equipment to be installed on Vandyke Road playing fields will be announced soon.

Annual Report

The Annual Report is now complete. Within this report, you will read about exciting new initiatives, including the grand opening of the Astral Sports and Community Facility, the commencement of refurbishment works on the Mentmore Road Pavilion and the temporary beach that can be enjoyed in Parson’s Close for three months in the summer. You will also see how we have managed our resources, including the precept we receive as a proportion of Council Tax paid by Leighton Buzzard and Linslade residents and the income generated by services such as the street market, hire of sports pitches, cemeteries and allotments
